SPCC 266 beat St Leo’s 91
St Paul’s moved on to the next round of the Downie Trophy with a comfortable win over St Leo’s Wahroonga. SPCC batted bit below par with a number of players getting a start only to get out to a poor shot, including three top edges. Despite this, the team were able to bat all the way down the order with some aggressive hitting including 25 off 9 balls for Sam Callow. (Oscar Greenwood 43, Oliver Davies 42, Joel Davies 48, Angus O’Donnell 38no, Sam Callow 25, Anton Callow 15)
St Paul’s couldn’t have started the defence of their total snaring a wicket first ball and 6th ball of the innings. The bowling was a superb length and line and only included one sundry. Daniel Flew and Ollie Davies each grabbed 3 wickets as all the bowlers shared the spoils.
